With the support of some 70 members, over a dozen research groups, and a number of partners, it has been an exceptional training ground for international expertise and knowledge since 1994.
The master’s program includes four fields of study: international relations, international development, international trade and investment, and international security. We have shaped an entire generation of Canadian and foreign internationalists (over 600 alumni to date).
Our interdisciplinary doctoral program produces experts well versed in international realities, e.g., experts who apply their understanding of geography and law to water issues.
Our expertise covers security, human rights, trade, the environment, geopolitics, natural resources, and development across the globe—in North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Events include symposia, lectures, round tables, and our international summer schools on highly critical and topical international issues. Terrorism, food security, conflict and intervention, and natural resources are the themes for the 2014 and 2015 summer schools.
